Ambush
For a few years, I had been meaning to flesh out an original character which I had been sketching on and off. This image can actually be considered a teaser or promotional image for the upcoming web comic series Third World which will be published on homis.org. For now, the main female figure has simply been dubbed “The Huntress”, but expect to learn much more about her as Third World rolls foward.
With over 120 hours of work, lots of coffee and tea, Ambush has taught me a lot of lessons in working with the digital 2D media. This is my first original composition done in Photoshop. It’s not quite at the professional level of polish I had hoped for, I am still very proud with how it turned out and the progress I had made over the course of a single project. Considering that I was working with this original sketch, I had a lot of original elements to compose. These were done using a mix of traditional painting techniques and self-taught Photoshop techniques learned through internet tutorials.
