Recline
This is one of my best charcoal still-figure drawings to date; its probably the strongest example of my ability to depict photorealism, movement, texture, composition and all that art school stuff in a single drawing. And considering that everything was completed in less than 30 minutes, I’m going to take this moment to pat myself on the back and wag my tail as I do so.
But seriously, I want to create more work like this; a lack of resolve to obtain a model, laziness and a lack of a serious studio space have kept me from the fine art vein for way too long. The biggest problem is just obtaining models, and the whole situation is just tedious and awkward at the moment. I will probably just start drawing people I hang out with, so if you’re a friend of mine, sit very, very still. In Soviet Russia, I draw YOU!
